Time and Tide

Ribbon tights: Primark
Floral shorts: ASOS.com
Bat wing-sleeve shirt: Blogshop
Pocket watch (worn as necklace): Portobello Market (London)

A giant bear hug to everyone who said I look long and lean in the post below. You made me very, very happy!

Some credit has to go to the floral maxi skirt, but for the most part, it's due to the angle the photos were taken. For that, full credit goes to the boyfriend for squatting down to take those photos. Awww...

Since starting this blog, I've been trying to find flattering camera angles. I hate how my legs look like toothpicks in certain pictures (trust me, it's not a nice sight), but in others, my thunder thighs are enhanced. High angles can make one look like a midget while low angles can expose a heavy bottom and the dreaded double-chin. Finding the right balance is so hard especially since all I have is a mini tripod.

Do you have any tips for good camera angles?

  4. I love how you have pocket watches as necklaces :) I've never seen any in the shops before. And I agree about the ASOS voucher! (Although it would mean I'd end up spending way too much XD)Xx

  5. I find that just under nipple height is usually perfect. It minimizes the legs, while it doesn't make you look like a midget.

I use my tripod a lot more than my husband, but I always tell him to shoot from my chest height or just below it, and it looks alright each time. You've seen my pictures.

    It works.

  8. I love the floral shorts and the pocket watch :D Ahh I have that problem too with camera angles - it's worse for me though because I don't even have a tripod. It's definitely hard finding a good angle that works for your body :<

  11. you're not alone! i've been struggling with how to model the clothes since i've started fashion blogging. hahaha! funny as it may sound but standing alone doesn't show the quality of the clothes.

love the floral shorts and tights. been wanting to buy like those but not so lucky with finding one.

  14. ahh the shorts are so precious!

for me personally i just prefer a straight on angle at the waist eye level. i hate it when the photos are taken to high up cause than the legs look short and stuby and if it's too low than we look just awkward lol!!!

  26. lovely outfit :) and as far as camera angles go: I try not to take pictures bottom up, if you know what I mean, that's not at all a flattering angle (for me at least that is) and other tips could be to stay away from direct sunlight and avoid that your photographers shadow is in your photos, cause that happens to me all.the.time ^^ x

  34. Point to bear in mind to self: Ask hubby to squat down.

I’m the same as you. I still can’t find a flattering camera angle when doing my outifit posts. I personally like the face when taken from up down as it gives an angled feel but it makes my legs look short and stumpy. Taking from down up isn’t flattering on my jaw too. Sometimes I would wonder why in some photos my legs looks slender and tones while other they look dumpy and stumpy.

I think you look really tall in the photos for the previous post. That’s a great skirt on you!
