LensVillage GEO Grang Grang Choco review

Today, I'll be reviewing the GEO Grang Grang Choco HC-246 circle lenses.
Disclosure: These lenses were sponsored by LensVillage, a Malaysian-based online store that sells circle lenses. However, this review is written based on my own honest opinions.

I have been complaining about how circle lenses these days are getting ridiculously large in diameter. We're talking about 17mm here and personally, that is not the look I'm going for. What about girls like us who like to keep it simple, yet have a bit of fun with colour and a tiny bit of enlargement for our eyes?

Circle lens manufacturers, y u no make new circle lenses with smaller diameters???

Well, someone must have heard us (me) lamenting, so they introduced the new GEO Grang Grang series! (Funny name, I know. I wonder what it means in Korean) With the new series, you can choose between 14.2mm or 15.0mm. YES!!

Comfort: 4/5
I had no problem wearing these lenses for hours. I even wore this to a smokey Japanese BBQ and didn't experience any discomfort. However, I wouldn't recommend wearing it for longer than 6 hours.

Enlargement: 3/5
The diameter of these circle lenses are 14.2mm, so they do have a little bit of an enlarging effect. Moreover, the dark chocolate ring around the lenses further contributes to the enlargement. I must say that even though the dark ring is pretty obvious under light, it doesn't look too harsh.

Colour: 2/5
*note that a 5/5 score would mean that the colour's very obvious even while indoors*
Indoors, these lenses don't look like they offer much colour change. The brown is more obvious in daylight or when I use flash. I think this pair blends really well with my natural eye colour (dark brown).

How much do I like them? 4/5

  2. My ultimate fav is 14.0mm, too, but don't mind going up to 14.5 depending on the pattern. Anything more and I find it really hard to make my make up look natural

  3. Hahaha if only. However the really popular ones (which I like) like the GEO tricolor ones are still pretty much the same price because the demand for those is still there. I wished the manufacturers can understand that the biggest demand is actually for the smaller diameters and make more :(

  4. haha isn't it good that the latest and hyped up circle lenses are getting bigger and bigger? because it means that the smaller diameter ones (which you prefer) get cheaper! :P but yeah some of them are just ridiculously large and it's tough maintenance trying to do super heavy eye makeup to match it. These ones are nice though- they're quite natural :D

  6. These look very nice and natural on you! I don't like how large some circle lenses are getting either - 17mm is borderline dangerous, IMO. The eye isn't getting enough oxygen if the lens is that big. I prefer the 14.2-15mm (at most) lenses.

  7.  Although the name is kinda funny. (Grang Grang sounds like some sort of exotic species of crab) they look really nice on your eyes, even if the colour is very natural. xD

  11. Hi. Regarding your message about one of my posts (meta tags for individual blog post), someone else had a problem too. I think she made a typo. So try looking over what you wrote and see if you missed something.

  21. The name is quite funny and unusal. They look fairly natural on you. I am not a circle lens expert because i rarely wear them and by far i only like one pair from Geo which is Tricolor series. I too deny wearing anything bigger than 14.5 in diameter - 14.0 is ideal for me personally.

  25. I know what you mean about circle lenses getting bigger and bigger.

Those look great on you, can't go wrong with one that matches your natural eye colour and I like that their only 14.2 mm, I generally like 14 but .2 doesn't seem a big difference and best of all they look really natural. on you.
