I'm in love with this big zipper metal body chain/necklace I won in a giveaway by The Petite Blogger. It was handmade by Jenna, herself! I love how edgy it is and I can wear it so many ways. Thanks, Jenna!

I made a body chain harness once and absolutely loved it, but sadly the chains started to change colour after a couple of months. I didn't expect that to happen (though I should have), so I didn't really keep it in a bag or anything *sad face*

Anywayz, this is going to be a bit of a random post, so I'll throw in some photos to show you what I've been up to the past week.

Ran down to London again, but on my own this time as I had some things to sort out for my Aunt. These things accompanied me on my 2 hours plus train journey.

A very dear friend I've known since my first year of Uni (5 years ago) came back to England for a little holiday. So a couple of friends and I decided to head down to London to meet up with her. We spent the day at Borough Market, Portobello Market and then, Chinatown for dinner.

I quite like Borough Market because of the sights and smells of the food available there. You can get a Thai green curry, a chorizo burger, cured ostrich meat and chocolate brownies all in one place. All of which I had none because I was too excited to see my friend. I did get a cup of fresh watermelon juice, though, which is so hard to find here in the UK.

The market also has lots of seafood including fresh scallops and oysters. A few of my friends decided to enjoy the finer things in life, while the rest of us continued yakking. I'm too much of a peasant to be able to appreciate such high quality food huhu.

I'd choose a Portuguese egg tart over oysters any day. Yummy, eggy goodness. I even brought some home because I'm greedy like that. I'm eating one as I type this. Nom nom nom...

Eating egg tarts always reminds me of one of my nieces when she was little. She didn't like eating the crust, so she'd always eat her egg tarts with a spoon to scoop out the middle bits. It's terribly wasteful, but the image of her sitting on the floor eating it like that is SO cute! Why are kids so cute??

The weather was lovely and I was glad I chose not to bring a coat. It seemed like the perfect summer's day as we walked along Portobello Market.

That place always seems so exciting no matter how many times I go. There's all sorts of antique bric-a-brac there. It's totally a vintage-lover's (and tourist's) heaven. I rarely buy anything, but I just really enjoy strolling down the road, picking up and looking at random things.

How beautiful are these antique cameras? I also saw a SX-70 polaroid camera which I've kind of wanted for a while, but it cost £120!! *shocked* 
I cannot believe how expensive these things are when before the whole lomography craze, no one would have so much as glanced at it. My mum really shouldn't have thrown her typewriter and Singer sewing machine away. Those things are worth a fortune now! Okay, maybe not a huge fortune, but ya know.


Anywayz, I had a really good time and it was so good to meet up properly with everyone. Everyone kept saying how it was just like old times and it was as if our friend never left.


I can't wait to hand in my dissertation so I can go out and meet friends again!

Sorry updates have been a little slow lately. I'm getting progressively busier as the deadline for my dissertation draws closer.

On top of that, I'm sure most of you have heard about the recent UK riots. When I'm not working on my research, I'm monitoring the news, Twitter and Facebook for updates. The BBC channel was pretty much on throughout the day so I could keep an ear out on the news. It's a terribly sad thing that has happened and it upsets me to watch videos of victims telling their stories. It makes me so mad that people could do this!

I know how it feels to watch news like that on the telly and go, "How terrible!", but to actually be here and worry that your city will be hit next is an entirely different experience. When there's so much worry and rumour-mongering going on and you have worried relatives calling you to tell you to stock up on food and stay indoors, it does interrupt your daily routine, even though people have said that we should not have to live in fear. Well, to be honest, I was too angry to be afraid.

Thankfully, my city wasn't hit and we remain as one of the safest cities in the UK. Thank you to those who checked on me to make sure I was okay. I really appreciate that.

Let's move on to some happier news, shall we? :)

London (Part 3: Royal Wedding)

As you may or may not know, one of the reasons I went down to London was to attend (ah, I use that term loosely) the Royal Wedding.

*cue rolling eyes*

I know, I know, everyone and their grandmother's cat have moved on already and this joyous piece of news is now so five years ago. But hey, I did not wake up at 6am to rush to the Buckingham Palace and wait for hours just so my photos can sit inside my hard disk and be forgotten. So allow me...

Despite my initial neutral attitude about the whole thing, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I'm so glad I hauled my ass up to be there on that special day. I'm certainly no royalist, but it isn't everyday you get to see a Prince marry the love of his life.

People may have different opinions regarding the spending on the wedding, but I can tell you that the atmosphere there was amazing! Everyone was in such good spirits; there was so much positivity in the air! For just one day, everyone put aside their worries and basked in the happiness of the newlyweds. I think it was great that Great Britain had a reason to celebrate. It was just wonderful to see people celebrating!

I'm sure even the most grumpy person will have to admit the wedding was beautiful. William and Catherine looked so in love and they seemed genuinely happy it was their big day instead of being caught up in the stress of formalities and such.

I'm so happy I was one of a million "guests" that day.

9) My Royal Wedding souvenir. To be honest, a lot of the wedding souvenirs were cheaply made and the print job on some of them were appalling. I'll probably wait until they use the official wedding photos for a new batch of souvenirs to get some.

There isn't a picture of my outfit in this post because I would look horrible next to a picture of the beautiful Catherine "can't call her Kate anymore", Duchess of Cambridge.

How stunning was Catherine in that Sarah Burton dress! I disagree with those who said it was too conservative; I think Catherine looks the picture of elegance and that plunging neckline gave off just the right amount of sexiness. The lacework, of course, was gorgeous! Love it!!

Whenever I'm in London, I always try to schedule a trip to Camden Market. It's a quirky place that satisfies all the 4 S's; sight, sound, smell, shop. The whole place is so colourful and you see all sorts of interesting people there, from punk rockers to vintage girls. There'd be reggae music blasting out of someone's speakers in one corner and indie music coming from another. Further along, the yummy aroma that wafts from the international food stalls is enough to make anyone drool. However, the best bit here is the shopping. It kinda reminds me of Bangkok's Jatujak market.

8. In the evening, we went to watch a musical, The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre. It was brilliant! Love the songs and the actress that plays Christine Daae sang ever so beautifully. My favourite scene was of the Masquerade Ball. So many pretty, glittery costumes on display!
