Yay, I've finally got my hands on a fake collar! I know the trend is so last year, but I never could justify paying for one. Some of them cost as much as a dress or even more. So I was really glad when I found this on Oasap.com.
I wore it to work and got many curious glances and compliments. Many were amazed such a thing exists as they've never heard of fake/detachable collars before and thought it quite ingenious.
I tend to take for granted that just because I read a lot of fashion blogs and scour Lookbook for outfit inspirations, I assume that others know what's hot and what's not. When in fact, a trend can be making it's rounds all over blogs and other fashion networks, but your average every day lady may be completely oblivious to it.
I'm rather glad I introduced the concept of detachable collars to them hehe.
I chose this particular one from Oasap.com because it has both lace and pearls. It's really very pretty in real life and I can't wait to wear it more often.

The lace+pearl collar is beautiful! I love them but can't justify paying so much for a just a collar (which may explain why i still haven't gotten one yet T_T i'm too picky) but i love it when other ppl post looks with it. :D And i agree, i've been reading so many fashion and beauty blogs that when somebody tells me they've never heard/seen a certain trend, i'm kinda surprised, haha.

I love the collar trend! I've yet to actually get my hands on any, but when I do I'll be happy pairing it up with outfits.

It looks great in your workwear outfit :) I think it's pretty amazing what blogging does too. If I didn't read as many fashion blogs as I do now, I don't think I would be keeping up with the trends either.

ReplyDeleteThe fake collar trend has been around since last year from Jap magazines and fashion bloggers but I do not see many people here sporting them and in fact, it seems like the trend has hit stored here only recently. I personally don't own one as I haven't found any that is practical enough to match my existing outfits. No point buying such a pretty lace or pearls one only to find that none of my clothes at home match it and then I've to go buy an outfit to match the collar.

You're right. Each collar here cost between RM25 to RM60 which is crazy! I'm glad this was sponsored so I finally have one! Yay, but I'm thinking of buying one which is RM25...still pretty pricy, but one is not enough hahaha
