Did I break my shopping ban?

A little over 5 weeks ago, I made an official announcement here*click* that I was going on a 2-month shopping ban. I thought 2 months was going to be difficult to achieve, but I decided to challenge myself. So have I been good?

Well, let's see, I certainly haven't bought any clothes or accessories. In retrospect, I put myself on the ban because I realized I had been buying too many new clothes (wholesale websites will be the bane of me). The main purpose was to force myself to actually wear these clothes. How many of you ladies have brand new clothes sitting in your wardrobe? Do you see price tags still hanging on them? Don't be shy to admit it, the majority of us (by that, I mean me) are guilty of that *winks*

However, I am going to admit that I did buy some bath and beauty products. And I swear the items below were the only purchases I made (except for grocery shopping. That's for survival, man) in the past 5 weeks.

1) Lush bubble bars

2) Cure Natural Aqua Gel
- I only purchased the one bottle of the product, so imagine my surprise when I opened the parcel and saw this...

The lovely eBay seller sent me SO many free gifts! With my bottle of gel, I received samples, snacks, a sweet note and even a small toy! OMG! How generous is this nice lady!! If anyone is thinking of purchasing the gel, I would highly recommend buying it from Yukiko on eBay, here*click*.

3) Boudoir Privé
- I got my VIP invite today and decided to go ahead and make payment to secure the first box. Technically, I'll only receive the box in early August, but since I've made payment, I'll consider this as purchases I made during my shopping ban

Even though I'm inclined to say that I didn't actually break my (clothing and accessories) shopping ban, I will admit that purchasing the above was a bit cheeky of me. Still, I'm not going to beat myself up over it because I know how hard it has been refraining myself from buying stuff with all these crazy summer sales going on ALL over the UK.

I haven't been to the mall for ages and even when I head to the city centre, I dare not even walk into any shops and end up heading home early. The giant red posters with the seductive 4-letter word beginning with 'S' mocks me as I walk forlornly by.

I'm going to complete the 2-month ban and from now until the end, I'm not even going to buy any beauty products. Wish me luck! xx

  6. I think the whole point of the ban was to restrict yourself from buying too many things, so you've definitely limit yourself :) Goal achieved!

  14. I don't think 2 months is too hard, esp if it's for clothes and accessories.

For skincare/makeup products, might be a little harder.

I think going on 2-3 month bans is useful for the budget and probably good for your self-discipline, right? I tried 6 months. Man, that was hard.

  26. I think you are good to go girlie! Haha, some things we just need to buy! But I definitely have clothes in my closet with the tags still on. So I'm actually still on my "shopping trim" and focusing on shoes...because i don't have a lot of creative shoes. So this time I'm actually buying things I need or want to expand on versus my usual oh that's nice I want it shopping...lol
