My Beauty Diary Arbutin Whitening Mask review

My Beauty Diary (MBD) originates from Taiwan and their facial sheet masks are a huge hit in Asia. I started using MBD masks when I was in the UK and always have several boxes as back up.

Today I'll be reviewing theArbutin Whitening Mask.
Functions: Whitening

I purchased this in Hong Kong last year. Click *here* for my Hong Kong haul post.

Pros:
Again, like all the other MBD masks I've tried, this mask is super moisturising.

After application, my skin definitely feels cooler, softer and definitely smoother! It also feels very refreshed.

Skin is noticeably brighter, although this isn't a permanent effect.

After removing the sheet, I massage the leftover essence into my skin and it absorbs pretty quickly and doesn't leave a sticky feeling.

Some people have said that the mask is thinner than the other usual MBD masks, but mine may have been from an earlier batch because it was very sturdy and did not tear easily.

No break outs.

Cons:
The brightening effects are definitely short-lived.

Didn't help lighten my blemishes.

Erm, not sure about the anti-ageing effects.

How I use it:
1) Cleanse face
2) Apply sheet mask for 20-30 minutes
3) Remove sheet mask
4) Gently massage the remaining essence on my face until fully absorbed
5) Apply moisturiser to seal in the essence

This mask is supposed to be good for whitening and anti-ageing, but I'm pretty sure I'll need more than a box to see the long-term effects.

I am starting to think that all MBD masks are pretty much the same, but I will still continue to buy them because it's such a quick pick-me-up and the moisturising effects are indisputable.

Please note that there are plenty of fake My Beauty Diary masks (and other cosmetics and skincare items for that matter) out there. So do get them from reliable sources as you don't want to be messing with your skin.

  1. I have tried the 'Mixed Berries'
mask you have gave me! Super
moisterize but it kind of gave me
    breakouts as well.. Maybe it's
    too sensitive for my skin.

    Anyway, thanks and thanks for

  5. I'm a fan of MBD masks too ^^ But I agree with you - after a while, all the masks seem to have the exact same effects, so I guess you can't go wrong with whichever box you choose :)

  6. I love the MBD masks! :) Fakes are everywhere these days, even when some people say they have the distribution rights it's so hard to believe it..Unless they're like a major store like Sasa
